The AM models differ from standard lubes with a more compact body, which will suit players used to the narrower, more compact bodies of electric guitars. The body of the AMH90-PBM is made of laminated linden. A three-piece exotic nyatoh and maple neck is glued to a Makassar ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium-sized frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl (Abalone) position dots.
Super 58 humbuckers with Alnico magnets and a milder output signal offer a beautifully warm vintage tone that will stand out in jazz and other genres. The character of the sound can be adjusted using the volume and tone diaphragm potentiometers, a three-position pickup switch, and a Tri-Sound switch that offers parallel wiring and a split-coil neck humbucker configuration.
The strings are mounted in the company's tuning machines, Gibraltar Performer pickguard and stringers. Nice workmanship is accentuated by the body, fingerboard and headstock binding, imitation tortoiseshell pickguard and gold hardware.
