5th Avenue are archtop guitars that will take you back to the 50s when these instruments ruled the music. It combines a classic sound with the playing comfort that only instruments built with the latest techniques can offer. And as is usual with Godin guitars, precision craftsmanship, the use of quality materials and great sound are a given.
Body and neck
The entire body of this instrument - front, sides and back - is made from Canadian wild cherry. The glued-on neck is made from silver-leaf maple. The fingerboard, with a radius of 16 inches, is made of rosewood, and you'll find 21 frets at a gauge of 630 millimeters.
Pickups and electronics
The guitar is fitted with a single pickup in the neck position, specifically a single-coil Godin Kingpin P90. The sound can then be controlled using the volume and tone potentiometers.
Hardware
The hardware used is chrome plated. On the headstock you'll find high-quality tuning mechanisms, while on the other side the strings lead through the height-adjustable tailpiece to the stringboard. The 43.7 millimetre wide zero fret is made of Graphtech's TusQ material, which simulates bone.
The Godin 5th Avenue is perhaps a slightly atypical instrument, which makes it offer unprecedented possibilities. Don't hesitate to give it a try!
