The B series instruments are, in a way, the flagship of ESP-LTD's bass production. These instruments impress you at first sight with their very good design, but you will be equally impressed by their sound, workmanship and playing comfort. This bass is constructed from a solid ash body with a maple top with distinctive grain, to which is bolted a five-piece neck made from jatoba and maple wood. The fingerboard is also made of jatoba wood. The gauge of the instrument is standard, 864 mm, and features 24 XJ-type frets, with the width of the zero fret measured at 40 mm. The neck profile corresponds to the Thin U, so it is a very comfortable and fast neck.

The instrument is equipped with two humbucker type pickups, to which active electronics are attached. Both are made by ESP, the humbuckers are model SB-4 and can be controlled with an ABQ-3 type active equalizer in addition to volume and balance potentiometers. It is a three-band model, so on the body we find potentiometers for adjusting treble, midrange and bass. Thanks to these electronics, it's no problem to set up exactly the sound that suits you and that pushes through the band's sound.

The strings are anchored in an ESP BB-604 bridge with strings through the body, on the other side they go through a standard zero fret into the mechanics, which are also from ESP. This setup ensures great vibration transfer from the strings to the body, and therefore a solid tonal tone and long sustain. Stability of tuning is a matter of course. The hardware is in black nickel-plated finish.
