The Origin Magma 57 guitar effect brings the best of the Magnatone 200 series guitar legacy to your pedalboard. It combines the rich sound of pitch-modulating vibrato and clean overdrive - offering a wide range of sonic colours from the warm clean tones of jazz to the rich soundscapes of rock psychedelia.

The Magma 57 authentically captures the vibrato effect created by pitch-bending Magnatone Custom 260/280s from the late 1950s. Use the Blend switch to add a little sonic spice to the vibrato effect in the form of two forms of modulation - the pedal effect in the wet/dry setting of the in-phase signal offers an emulation of the rotating speaker effect in the form familiar from the Univox Uni-Vibe effect, while the 180-degree out-of-phase setting creates a cool chorus effect.

The amp section of the pedal effect draws inspiration from the Magnatone Model 213 'Troubadour' for a change. Utilising Origin Effects Reactive Drive technology, it offers the complex dynamic tones of real tube machines. The result is a raw organic overdrive not dissimilar to the Tweed Deluxe, but with a tighter bass bottom end that doesn't fall apart even when the saw is pushed hard.

The Post-EQ section adjusts the output of the effect to match your guitar type, so that clean and distorted sounds always sound their best. The Magma 57 even offers compatibility with flat-response end amps in Power Amp Mode, so you'll be able to play a gig in almost any situation. Use the footswitch input to connect external tap tempo switchers or complex effects switchers like the Boss ES5 or TheGigRig G2.

All electronics are housed in a durable stainless steel chassis, and the potentiometer covers are aluminum. The pedal effect is wired as a buffered bypass. The power supply is provided by a 9V adapter (not included). Battery power is not available.
