ZOOM H3-VR Audio Recorder

Zoom H3-VR offers a compact solution for 360° audio recording for film, virtual reality and mobile applications. The combination of an Ambisonic microphone, recorder and decoder then greatly simplifies the overall production process.

The microphone has four capsules and allows 360° recording (up to 24-bit/48kHz), binaural 3D stereo recording (24-bit/48kHz) and classic stereo recording.

The freely available ZOOM Ambisonic Player software allows easy conversion of the recording to 5.1 surround suitable for film and home theatre, and the recorder can also be used for live streaming of 360° audio.

The compact size allows for easy installation so that the microphone does not obstruct the camera. You're not limited by the position of the recorder either - the built-in gyroscope adjusts the microphone to a specific position.

The recorder is equipped with a headphone output for stereo monitoring, line output with volume control, rotatable LCD display, transport buttons for controlling recordings, hold button for locking parameters, built-in limiter or low cut filter.

A very accurate clock (0.05 ppm deviation) is included for synchronizing audio with video. Slate tone and tone marker then provide volume comparison between the recorder and camera as well as an audio flap.

The ZOOM H3-VR also allows remote control via a mobile app on iOS devices, but in this case it is necessary to connect the BTA-1 adapter (not included).

For post-production of recorded material, you can use the ZOOM Ambisonic Player software, which converts recordings to stereo, binaural or 5.1 tracks. You can easily play, alternate and position the audio in it.

Power is supplied by two included AA batteries or via USB.
