The body of the G2622T Streamliner Center Block Double-Cut is made of laminated maple, complemented by a solid spruce block that reinforces the guitar's soundboard while helping to eliminate unwanted feedback effects. The nato neck with a "Soft C" profile is glued to a fig fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by offset position markers made of imitation mother-of-pearl (Pearloid Neo-Classic Thumbnail).
Broad'Tron BT-3S high output humbuckers and a combination of Alnico 5 and Alnico 2 magnets give the guitar a sound with punchy mids, tight full bass and warm clean highs. Adjust the character of the sound with the two volume potentiometers (separate for each pickup), the tone shield and the Master Volume control with push/pull function. Simply split the pickup coils to change the full humbucker sound to single-coil.
Strings are anchored via a bone zero fret in the company's die-cast tuning machines and via an Adjusto-Matic tailpiece in a licensed Bigsby B70 tremolo. The classic eye-pleasing design of Gretsch guitars is accentuated by a number of styling features - from the arched body construction with F-holes, elegant binding with a subtle hint of patina (Aged White), "radio" style potentiometers, nickel hardware to the three-layered imitation tortoiseshell pickguard with gold Gretsch logo.
