The Gibson B.B. King Lucille Legacy semi-hollowbody electric guitar returns to the Custom Shop ES model lineup. This is a modified version of the Gibson ES-335 with high-end components that will please even the most discerning guitarists/collectors.
The front, back and sides are decorated with a spectacular figured maple veneer, with the wood grain accentuated by the chosen Transparent Ebony finish. In keeping with B.B. King's personal preference, the body does not offer traditional F cutouts. A maple neck with SlimTaper profile is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by mother of pearl position blocks (Mother of Pearl Split Block).
Two Gibson Custombuckers take care of the guitar's sound. The character of the tone can be shaped with two volume potentiometers, two tone controls, a six-position Varitone switch and a three-position pickup switch.
Stable tuning is ensured by the attachment of the strings via the artificial stone (Corian) zero fret in the Grover Tulip mechanism and via the ABR-1 bridge in the TP-6 stringers. The luxurious workmanship is accentuated by gold hardware including a bracing cap with "B.B. King" engraving, mother-of-pearl "Lucille" inlay on the headstock, multi-layered body and headstock binding and a tortoiseshell pickguard.
