This E-II Horizon FR-7 seven-string electric guitar impresses at first glance with its flame maple top with Black Turquoise Burst finish and contrasting cream binding. The body of the guitar itself is made of mahogany. A three-piece maple neck with a set-thru construction, i.e. a neck recessed deep into the body, and a narrower U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl position blocks.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, as well as density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. Other high quality components used include the original Floyd Rose double reverse tremolo, Gotoh locking mechanisms and Schaller rolls. Tuning stability when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which, like all hardware, are in a stylish black finish.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
