EPIPHONE Matt Heafy Origins Les Paul Custom 7-String Ebony

Epiphone electric guitars have been a more affordable alternative to Gibson originals for decades. The Matt Heafy Origins Les Paul Custom 7-String is the third Epiphone signature model created in collaboration with Matt Heafy, frontman of the popular American metal band Trivium.

The mahogany body of the seven-string guitar with maple top (maple cap) is decorated with Ebony finish. Thanks to chambering (modern weight relief), the mahogany body is lighter, which you and your spine will appreciate during extended playing. Glued to the mahogany neck with a fast "SpeedTaper D" profile is an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Position blocks make orientation on the fingerboard easy.

A pair of custom "tuned" Fishman Fluence humbuckers offer three sound positions. Specifically, the modern sound of a high-output active humbucker, the high-output passive humbucker and the sound of a rewound single-coil pickup with a ceramic magnet, and the modern sound of a high-output active humbucker, the clean full sound of a neck humbucker and the hi-fi single-coil sound of a neck pickup with an Alnico magnet. The mods can be switched between using push/pull volume potentiometers and a tone shutter.

Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the string attachment in the Grover Locking Mini Rotomatics locking mechanisms and through the LockTone Tune-O-Matic tailpiece in the strings. The stylish workmanship is accentuated by the gold hardware and the perimeter banding of the body, fingerboard and headstock.
