This sound card already offers sixteen analog line input channels at its base. These are represented by 6.3 mm Jack TRS connectors on the rear panel, while for the first two input channels there are alternatively combined XLR/Jack TRS 6.3 mm inputs on the front panel, which you can use for connecting microphones, electric (HiZ) or line instruments, while for the third and fourth input channels there is an alternative in the form of 3.5 mm Jack connectors, which the manufacturer intended for connecting popular mini desktop synths or also tablets or phones. The front-panel inputs always override the rear bus, and it doesn't matter if the rear inputs are permanently plugged in, quite the opposite - that's their purpose! At the output, we find eight analogue 6.3 mm Jack TRS channels, which have several essential functions. In fact, these channels are equipped with a DC control voltage function, which, when using compatible software, allows you to control analogue synths directly from your DAW. But that's not all, in addition to the normal line outputs, either pair can be configured to connect secondary listening monitors (the main monitors then have their own output with volume control and MUTE function) to take advantage of the pair's A/B switching function, or use the two front panel outputs for reamping or effects looping, for example. The headphone output offers the user the convenience of both 6.3 and 3.5 mm jack connectors, plus independent volume control. A full MIDI interface with classic 5-pin DIN connectors cannot be missing with such a card, and there is also USB MIDI for communication with compatible devices. Especially for professionals, the ADAT optical interface is designed to allow the connection of an additional eight channels on input and output via an external converter, plus bidirectional Wordclock synchronization, which guarantees perfect stability. The total number of audio channels reaches 32 for input and 24 for output.
Arturia AudioFuse 16Rig is literally a work center full of smart features designed to handle the job no matter how complex, while you can be more creative in your projects. For this reason too, it can operate without a computer connection and DAW in stand-alone mix mode. So you can use your studio wiring for live gigs, for example, with several settings stored. A central panel with colour display, encoder and several quick-access buttons are used for all control.
The audio interface also includes a software suite in the form of the Creative Suite, which includes instruments and effects plug-ins from the Arturia portfolio. In the accessories you get a power supply, two USB cables and a multi-function rack ears/stand.
