The Peavey 6505 M is a small two-channel head, which has an output of 20 W, the end stage is equipped with a pair of EL84 tubes and in the preamplifier we find three 12AX7 tubes.
The main panel equipment is almost identical to the original model - gain of the Rhythm channel with Bright and Crunch buttons, distortion of the Lead channel, common three-band correction, volume of both channels, reverb and potentiometers Resonance and Presence. Above the Standby and Power switches are two diodes indicating the status of the end tubes (TSI circuit).
The rear panel is reserved for a voltage switch (115 - 230V), a mains connector, a three-position switch for power selection (1/5/20W), a lever switch for output impedance for 8 or 16 Ohm boxes, an emulated XLR MSDI output with speaker mute and detachable ground, a headphone output, a send/return effects loop, a pair of footswitch connectors (chnl/boost and reverb/loop) and USB for direct recording.
According to the manufacturer, the Peavey 6505 MH has an identical distortion character to its larger predecessor, plus adds richer features (attenuator, headphone jack, USB with box emulation, etc.) that make this head an ideal amp for studio use.
