The SE Hollowbody II BG, from the more affordable SE series, features a body construction consisting of a plywood front and back and mahogany back and sides, with the front and back top adorned with a striking veneer of flamed maple. The resonant sound of the body's bellows construction and overall vintage design combine with the punch of electric guitars in the form of 58/15 "S" humbuckers, which is reflected in the instrument's sonic versatility (offering everything from clean country and jazz tones to a juicy rock sound).
In addition to the aforementioned body, the instrument features a Wide Fat mahogany neck and an ebony fingerboard with twenty-two frets. Orientation on the fingerboard surface is facilitated by position markers in the form of pearl bird silhouettes. The volume potentiometer, tone shutter and three-position pickup switch are used to adjust the sound of the pickups. The strings are mounted in a stringer and quality PRS mechanics.
