Built from the ground up for the modern musician, the next-generation FANTOM 6, FANTOM 7 and FANTOM 8 models combine Roland's state-of-the-art synthesizer technology with smooth operation, intuitive color touchscreens and deep computer integration. Creativity

When you want to get creative, FANTOM is ready - and all it takes is one touch. Your sounds, patterns and performance structures are arranged in creative assemblies called "Scenes". A Scene can be an entire song, a section of it, or even just a starting point with your favorite sounds, all set up the way you want. Scenes can also be sorted and switched between without pauses or glitches. You can use all 16 Parts with all available effects at the same time, even taking full advantage of the Patch Remain function for continuous transitions. It's like having the power of two complete Phantoms in one.

Sound

Inside the FANTOM, several synth technologies run simultaneously, allowing you to achieve authentic acoustic and electronic sounds, both classical and modern. You can even create samples of your own sounds and run up to 2GB of loops and one-off samples from the matrix pads. An analog filter is available for a more warm and earthy sound, and you can even combine software synths with FANTOM's internal sounds. FANTOM uses our V-Piano technology, which not only makes the piano sound good, but also gives you an authentic playing experience. Low frequency oscillators (LFOs) add dynamics to static sounds. More LFOs mean more modulation options and new creative possibilities. FANTOM has two LFOs for each partials, four partials for each tone, and since 16 sounds can be stacked, there are a staggering 128 LFOs for each sound in total.

Roland's best keyboard

The FANTOM 6 features a premium keyboard, a brand new semi-weighted drive on 61-key models. It feels very robust, precise and impressively playable, while you can also expand the expressive possibilities with the Aftertouch function. The keyboard adheres to precise standards, with each model being an improvement on the previous one.

Step sequencer

A great way to build a song is by assembling clips that contain musical Patterns. You can record drums, basses, pads and other Patterns and then run these clips individually or in groups. So you can compose music at lightning speed or trigger backing tracks during a live performance. Musicians playing live will appreciate the integrated TR-REC 16-step sequencer, which you may know from drum machines like the TR-808, TR-909 or TR-8S.

Flexible connectivity and great compatibility

Not only does FANTOM work with computers - it can be fully integrated with them. It presents a high-quality 16x3 stereo audio interface, and you can control your DAW and plug-ins from the touchscreen. It can integrate software synths into your scenes and send passages created on FANTOM directly to your DAW. The keys have intuitive controls that you'll especially appreciate in live performance or studio sessions. You'll find eight potentiometers, eight faders, sixteen pads and two tone modulation wheels. You can also control Apple Logic Pro, GarageBand and MainStage from the touchscreen, and even adjust software synth parameters. You can mix and layer their sounds with FANTOM's internal sounds, then route them to the analog filter section.

FANTOM's Sampling Processor version 2.1 has undergone further changes. Model Expansions give you unparalleled access to the entire evolving world of Roland synthesizers. Breathe life into your FANTOM in the form of completely different instruments with their own musical personalities, features and preset tones. You can split or layer Model Expansions, or mix them with V-Piano sounds, custom multisamples, or other ZEN-Core tones to create unique sounds and textures. Roland Cloud now offers dozens of SOund PAcks and Wave Expansions to keep your instrument full of fresh tones. Model Expansions work in your DAW via ZENOLOGY, but also enrich compatible Roland ZEN-Core hardware tools like JUPITER-X and FANTOM.
