Jaguar guitars are characterized by their typical offset body shape and shorter gauge. Like the Jazzmaster models, they have gained recognition thanks to the wave of punk and alternative rock, where they are still extremely popular today. The body of this instrument is made of alder with a gloss polyester lacquer finish. A maple neck with a pleasing Modern C profile is glued to a pau ferro fingerboard with twenty-two Medium Jumbo frets. Position markers make it easy to navigate its surface.
The combination of the company's pickups with Alnico magnets, i.e. a cobble humbucker and a neck single-coil, gives the instrument a sound suitable for a wide range of musical genres. Modifications include volume potentiometers, tone controls, a three-position pickup switch and a coil split switch, which opens the coils of the humbucker (activating only the outer coil) to achieve the sound of a single-coil pickup. Strings are mounted in a vintage floating tremolo, tuning stability is guaranteed by Standard Cast/Sealed mechanics. Traditional touches are complemented by a 1950s-style spaghetti logo and a three-layer pickguard, which also protects the instrument's lacquer from scratches.
