JACKSON JS Series Concert Bass JS3VQ, AFB TBKB

The beginning of the production of bass guitars at Jackson dates back to the first half of the 1980s. In addition to the now famous Kelly, King V and Dinky models, the Concert Bass also appeared. Essentially a simple instrument, it nevertheless has a straightforward seismic tone and a neck ideal for fast playing. Fans of these instruments include bassists from bands such as Hatebreed, Lamb of God and Megadeth.

The JS series basses are basic models, but they lack none of the true Jacksonian attributes. The use of quality materials and perfect workmanship is a matter of course in this case.

The body of this bass is made of poplar wood with a top made of puff maple. The maple neck is bolted to the body and is great for fast playing. The amaranth fingerboard is also adapted to this, with a combined radius that flattens towards the body. There are 24 jumbo frets. The typical pearl shark fins serve to orient the fingerboard. The gauge of the instrument is 889 mm. The width of the zero fret is 44.5 mm.

The strings are anchored in a solid Jackson HiMass headstock, which naturally accentuates the attack and sustain of the tone. Die cast mechanics ensure reliable tuning. Sound pickup is handled by two humbuckers with their own volume controls, while the bass features active electronics with a three-band EQ and tone control.
