The SR series has been one of Ibanez's most popular basses since 1987. The main characteristics of these instruments include a lightweight ergonomically shaped body, a narrow neck that contributes to a truly comfortable playing experience, careful selection of woods and hardware, versatility of use, and above all, a great sound.

This bass with the Premium acronym belongs to a model range manufactured in Indonesia, and extreme care has been taken in the production and quality control. For example, the frets are treated with Premium Fret Edge Treatment, specially rounding the ends of the frets for faster playing and a more comfortable grip on the neck. No expense has been spared on the hardware either, with Gotoh drives and Graph Tech Black TUSQ XL zero frets ensuring perfect tuning.

The body is composed of the tried and tested combination of mahogany and poplar top with an unmistakable pattern, and is complemented by a truly exceptional neck - composed of fifteen pieces of Panga Panga, maple, padauk, Purpleheart and walnut, it is literally a work of art. Its perfect stability is further ensured by special bracing from KTS Titanium. The fingerboard is made of Panga Panga wood and is adorned with oval ear markers and fitted with 24 Medium size frets.

Completing the perfect package are the Nordstrand Big Single passive pickups, the sound from them can be controlled by the Volume, Balance potentiometer and an active three-band EQ, complete with a midrange switch and also an EQ Bypass switch. This combination of pickups and other electronics makes it completely seamless to get a large number of sound settings while maintaining perfect tone color and dynamics. The strings are anchored in an MR5 type headstock with 19mm string spacing and a high quality soft case is included.
