ELECTRO-HARMONIX Deluxe Big Muff

Deluxe Big Muff is a refined version of the legendary Big Muff pedal effect from the American Electro Harmonix brand. It offers the same warm sustain with an almost looping character, velvety overdrive/distortion and coarse-grained distortion/fuzz as the original models, plus a host of other useful features.

Three well-known basic pedal controls (Tone, Volume, Sustain) determine output volume, distortion/sustain level and EQ (bass or treble boost). In the case of the Deluxe version, these are complemented by a separately switchable midrange section (MIDS) with fully parametric midrange controls with the ability to boost/weaken the midrange by 10 dB, a base operating frequency setting on a scale from 310 Hz to 5 kHz, and a switch that determines the midrange operating bandwidth. The MIDS section controls are inactive when the MIDS footswitch is in bypass mode.

This is not the end of the Deluxe model's capabilities. The Attack knob adjusts the pedal's sensitivity to the dynamics of your playing/attack pickup, the Gate knob simply sets the Noise Gate sensitivity threshold and completely eliminates the accompanying noise even in hi-gain settings. Use the Bass Boost/Normal switch to boost the bass frequencies when needed.

The EXP input connects an expression pedal to the effect, which can be used to control the center frequencies in real time. All pedal electronics are housed in a durable chassis. The box operates in true bypass mode, so it doesn't affect the pass-through signal in any way when switched off. Power is supplied by a 9V battery or 9V adapter.
