ORANGE AD30HTC

The all-tube guitar amps and combos from the AD series are basically the flagship of the Orange range. They offer the most typical British sound, characterized by a lively clean sound and a very "juicy" rock distortion. Thanks to a special vintage-tuned preamp, the AD offers two channels, the first of which has a thick and creamy sound that becomes pleasantly biting as the machine melts, while the second channel sounds tighter, with more upper mids and distortion. So you have a whole palette of perfect tones at your fingertips.

Specifically, the AD30HTC is a 30-watt amplifier whose final amplifier operates in Class A. In its two-level preamp you'll find four 12AX7 tubes, the final amplifier contains four EL84 tubes, plus one GZ34 tube. This model includes a preamp with two completely independent channels with separate signal paths.

This unit is really based on the motto that simplicity is power. On the front of the preamp, apart from the guitar input, the channel switch and the Power and Standby switches, you will find only ten potentiometers placed in two rows, each belonging to one channel. On both, you can adjust the amount of distortion with the Gain potentiometer, the volume with the Master control, and the tone equalisation with Bass, Middle and Treble.

The rear side is no less minimalist - basically there are only 3 connectors for connecting speakers, two 8Ohm and one 16Ohm. Of course, there's also a footswitch input.

The Orange AD30 is a machine that is essentially synonymous with the sound, reliability and quality that Orange amplifiers and combos have become famous for around the world. You would be hard pressed to find a more "orange" machine.
