Its fully analogue electronics are concealed in a solid metal chassis, which exits two high-quality 3PDT footswitches, eight potentiometers and input and output jacks. Power is supplied by a 9 volt adapter or 9 volt battery.
Potentiometers arranged in two rows are used for adjustment. At the top is first the clean channel volume control, followed by the distortion channel controls - Volume and Gain to determine the volume and level of distortion, plus Blend to set the ratio between clean and distorted sound. In addition, there's a Trigger control for setting the built-in noise gate. For the clean channel, let's not forget the Color switch to turn on special equalizer settings.
The equalizer is located in the second row of controls - it offers the classic 3 bands, i.e. Bass, Mid and Treble controls. Next to it is the phantom power switch. In terms of connectors, you'll find a standard 6.3 mm Jack input and 6.3 mm Jack and XLR outputs on the DI+. Finally, there's a parallel 6.3 mm Jack output, which outputs the same signal you send to the DI+.
The Dunlop MXR Bass DI+ is therefore a first-class DI box and preamp that offers easy operation and a wide range of sonic possibilities.
