AKG P220

AKG PERCEPTION is a range of versatile large-diaphragm microphones bringing excellent studio quality to all areas of audio work. In addition to home studio recording, commercial, podcast and webcast production, the microphones are also suitable for live sound reinforcement thanks to their very robust design and ability to handle high sound pressure levels. Designed in AKG's development department in Vienna and manufactured in the China factory under strict quality control by Austrian engineers, PERCEPTION microphones fully comply with AKG's strict product standards.

The PERCEPTION 220 is a studio condenser microphone designed for high-quality pickup of vocals, spoken word, acoustic instruments, percussion and guitar boxes. Key features of the microphone include a durable die-cast metal body, elegant color scheme, nickel-plated grille, capacitive microphone capsule with 1" gold-plated diaphragm, kidney directional characteristic and XLR connector with gold-plated contacts. The microphone requires +48V phantom power. It features a switchable bass filter to limit the proximity effect (bass lift when capturing at close proximity, inherent in all directional microphones) and -20 dB attenuation for capturing extremely loud sound sources. With attenuation activated, it can handle sound pressure up to 155 dB without distortion. Accessories for the PERCEPTION 220 include a suspension mount (spider) and a metal transport case.
