The front of the LJ16 ARE is made of Engelmann solid spruce wood, which has undergone A.R.E. (Acoustic Resonance Enhancement) treatment at the molecular level before assembly. Through precise control of temperature, humidity and atmospheric pressure, the wood achieves acoustic qualities comparable to an instrument that has been actively played for many years. You get your hands on a guitar with "won" wood.
The back and sides are made of solid rosewood, which, in addition to the undeniable sound qualities, also elevates the visual appeal of the guitar. The special non-selected ribbing on the soundboard preserves the characteristic bright tone of L-series guitars while enhancing the bass frequencies. The adjusted string height and spacing, the rounded ebony fingerboard and the pleasing profile of the neck, which is glued together from five pieces of mahogany and rosewood, contribute to a comfortable playing experience. The visual appeal of the instrument is enhanced by gold hardware, a rosette composed of a mother-of-pearl ring and black and white lines, a maple body surround and a practical pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell.
The guitar's sound is provided by an SRT Zero Impact passive piezo pickup that faithfully reproduces the instrument's acoustic sound.
