Another big plus of the Valvenergy series pedals are the three selectable modes, where you can use them as classic guitar effects plugged in front of the machine (Standard), or as standalone preamps. In Preamp mode with line-level output signal, you can plug the pedals into the loop of the machine (Return) or the input of a rear amp, while in Cab-Sim mode with cabinet simulation you can plug the pedal directly into a mixer or soundboard for direct recording into a DAW. Using a stereo cable (3.5mm TRS jack), you can connect two effects from the Valvenergy range via the Link connector and use them as two independent channels (switching the pedal instantly turns the other off).
All pedals in the Valvenergy series have analog circuitry with 9V power internally amplified to 15V. This allows them to offer more headroom and a more dynamic sound. The four boxes are further united by a simple, but tight, design, an OLED display that provides a visual indication of the sound, and buffered bypass mode circuitry. A 9V adapter or 9V battery is used to power the effects. The pedal draw corresponds to 95 mA.
