TECH 21 Acoustic Fly Rig

The Acoustic Fly Rig is a multieffect/pre-amp for acoustic instruments from Tech 21. It offers everything you need as an acoustic guitar or other acoustic instrument player on stage or in the studio in a compact and clear form. You'll be completely free of the "joys" of tangles of interconnecting cables, annoying binding posts, or the demoralizing signal (visual and audible) of a dying battery in your effects pedal. At the same time, you can do without scrolling through preset databases and deciphering information from the display. None of this is offered by Acoustic Fly Rig.

At the heart of the multi-effect is SansAmp technology, a fully analogue tube emulator that lets you leave your favourite, but heavy, amp at home or in the rehearsal room. It offers clear controls in the form of an output volume knob, a four-band semi-parametric EQ and two filters - Notch and Low Pass, operating in the 70Hz - 350Hz and 16kHz - 1.5kHz bands. This makes it easy to eliminate the annoying feedback effect and any unwanted frequencies.

The list of effects begins with a separate Boost function, which, at any multieffect setting, boosts the sound by up to 12 decibels and gives your solo outputs the proper sheen. The EFX section offers three more effects - a spatial Reverb (Room/Hall), a warm analog Delay with associated Repeats and Time controls and the option of a Tap Tempo switch, and Chorus to give your guitar sound the volume and feel of a twelve-string. You can further enhance the warmth and musicality of the sound with a fully analogue "old school" compressor.

Other features include two effect outputs (XLR and 6.3 mm jack), where you can change the instrument output to headphone output by pressing the headphone icon button, an integrated chromatic tuner, or a handy potentiometer backlight. It's all part of a solid construction with studio-grade metal switches and input jacks.

The included 9V adapter is used to power the multieffect.
