The Strymon UltraViolet is a sonically flexible chorus/vibrato/modulation effect that goes far beyond the classic "vibe" boxes in terms of sonic possibilities and features.
TRS stereo input and output in a dual mono configuration ensure that you can place the UltraViolet at any point in your pedal effects chain without any impact on the stereo signal. Use the Mono/Stereo switch to determine the pedal routing yourself (Mono In - Mono Out, Mono In - Stereo Out, Stereo In - Stereo Out requires a TRS cable for both jacks). The Strymon UltraViolet also offers a full MIDI implementation with 300 available preset locations, a USB-C interface for controlling the pedal effect from your computer/laptop and firmware updates, the ability to connect an external expression pedal and control the parameters of each control in any direction (in the factory default setting, the expression pedal will control the modulation speed), and finally a high impedance, ultra-low noise Class A JFET stereo preamp input that provides great dynamics, touch sensitivity and feel to the pedal effect.
The Strymon UltraViolet offers a wider range of sounds than traditional vibe boxes - in addition to the classic Chorus (50% wet) and Vibrato (100% wet) settings, it also offers a new Blend (30% wet) setting for creating more subtle modulation effects. Three standard controls determine the speed and intensity of the effect modulation and the output volume (gain up to +4 dB). The Bias switch with three mods changes the level of the bias, optimizes the LFO curve, boosts certain frequencies and thus can fundamentally change the character of the sound.
The pedal effect chassis is made of aluminium. The wiring can be changed from true bypass to buffered bypass. A 9V adapter (minimum 250mA) is required for power supply. Adapter is not included.
