The body of the PRS SE Silver Sky Maple Overland Gray is made of poplar. The bolt-on maple neck features the original 635JM cutaway/profile, with the maple fingerboard surface divided by twenty-two frets and position markers in the form of bird silhouettes.
Three single-coil 635JM "S" pickups give the guitar a beautifully singing sound. Its character can be adjusted with two tone diaphragm potentiometers and a volume knob. The strings are mounted in a steel tremolo with two-point anchoring and vintage-style tuning mechanisms. Other specifics of the instrument include a headstock with PRS' trademark inverted design and the requisite pickguard.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
SE-branded guitars represent a more affordable alternative to American-made instruments. In the case of PRS, however, there is no need to worry about the quality of the instruments - production standards and careful output control are a matter of course.
