MXR M309G1 Joshua Ambient Echo

Echo/delay MXR Joshua Ambient Echo offers the best of the sound experiments of the 60s and 70s as well as the ambient surfaces of the 80s. Back in the day, you needed a rack-mounted processor to do something like this; nowadays, a compact box that fits easily into any pedalboard can do the trick.

The MXR Joshua Ambient Echo delivers both the typical echo/delay pedal sounds as well as supermodern modulated echoes with octave effects and accompanying shimmer sonic grandeur. The Delay and Division controls adjust the basic tempo of the echo and its phrasing (in quarter time, eighth time, eighth time with dot, eighth time triplet). The Echo 2 button can be used to add a second echo in quarter note time. The two echoes can then be split into stereo (using the splitter TRS cable from the output or use the CTR jack as the right channel), the stereo output can also be used to separate the dry/wet signal.

Other controls determine the number of repeats (Regen), the octave mix of the effect (-1, +1, +2), the intensity of the added effect modulation, the overall volume of the modulated signal (Mix), and whether the effect terminates immediately when the box is turned off or decays (Trails). An external expression pedal (switching between two settings) or tap switch (controlling tap tempo and freeze functions) can be connected to the box via the CTR connector. Neither the expression pedal nor the tap switch are included.

When the trails function is off, the MXR Joshua Ambient Echo is wired as true bypass, in trails mode as buffered bypass. A 9V adapter is required for power, battery power is not available.
