The front of the Sitka spruce guitar is decorated with a graphic motif by the well-known artist Robert Goetzel, which emphasises the message that the Martin brand communicates to the world in this way. The back and sides are made of sapele. The resonance of the top is supported by the reduced X ribbing.
The mahogany neck is glued to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets. Positioning dots on the fingerboard surface facilitate orientation. The strings are held in open nickel mechanicals and an ebony fingerboard via a bone fretboard and compensated saddle.
The instrument comes in a soft-shell case made of hemp.
The American Martin company, founded in 1833, is quite deservedly one of the biggest and most respected names in stringed instruments. For decades, it has been one of the leading innovators in guitar design and manufacturing technology. However, to use only the past tense would be a great mistake; instruments with the Martin logo are still today among the guarantees of the highest quality in craftsmanship and sound. In addition, their current products use "eco-friendly" components made from renewable resources and composite materials.
