MARTIN D-45 Modern Deluxe

The Modern Deluxe line of American Martin guitars offers top-of-the-line, all-massive acoustic guitars made in Nazareth, Pennsylvania, that combine the world of traditional Martin design with ultra-modern features. The D-45 Modern Deluxe acoustic guitar is a dreadnought instrument with a large resonant body. The front of the guitar is made of Sitka spruce, the back and sides of select East Indian rosewood. The spruce soundboard underwent a torefaction process and other modifications before assembly, which the manufacturer collectively refers to by the acronym VTS (Vintage Tone System). As a result of these processes, the wood takes on the unique sonic characteristics of mature woods that are fifty or more years old in a short period of time. The resonance of the soundboard and the overall good acoustic properties of the guitar are enhanced by special reduced X-ribs (Scalloped Forward-Shifted X-Brace).

A genuine mahogany neck with a Vintage Deluxe profile is joined to an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty frets in an impressive gold finish. Orientation around the fingerboard surface is facilitated by side (abalone) and decorative front (abalone and mother-of-pearl) mother-of-pearl position markers. Precise tuning and good sustain are ensured by the string attachment via a compensated saddle and bone zero fret in open mechanics in gold finish with Butterbean pegs and ebony fingerboard.

The luxurious workmanship of the instrument is accentuated by the flamed maple binding on the body, fingerboard and headstock, complemented by a double-sided mother-of-pearl body inlay (abalone), mother-of-pearl rosette (abalone), Liquidmetal pegs with mother-of-pearl dots, an ebony headstock fretboard inlay with decorative mother-of-pearl inlay and a pickguard in imitation tortoiseshell.
