The Koch Studiotone 20 Combo guitar tube combo offers a great sound with the character of 1960s British instruments, and more features than its compact shape might suggest. It's a Class A end stage, with 20 watts of power, a newly designed custom speaker and cabinet design, and three footswitchable channels.
The three channels (Clean, Overdrive and Overdrive+) cover a wide sonic spectrum from the beautifully round warm tones to the saturated rock overdrive of the EL84 tubes. In addition to the standard controls in the form of volume and gain potentiometers, a three-band EQ and a built-in spring reverb control, the Mid Shift switch (boosting the midrange frequencies around 800 Hz), the three-position Bright switch (clipping or boosting the treble) and the H/M/L switch (High, Medium or Low gain settings for the Overdrive+ channel) can be used to shape the sound in more detail.
Pleasant surprises have also been in store for the rear panel in the form of a serial effects loop for easy integration of your favourite pedal effects, a mono output (Recording) with selectable cabinet simulation (1x12 or 4x12) and a virtual microphone setup for direct connection to a recording device or PA, two line outputs (one with a lower signal level), a headphone output, outputs to external cabinets with 4, 8 or 16 ohm impedance, a Speaker On/Off switch for silent recording and an input for the included two-channel footswitch.
The heart of the cabinet is the VG12-60 Koch 12-inch speaker.
