The Godin xtSA - Synth Access - 3 Voice Koa Extreme HG electric hybrid MIDI guitar offers the sounds of three different instruments - electric guitars, acoustic guitars and synthesizers - in one body.
The company's H-S-H configuration pickups give the guitar the full, thick sound of humbuckers as well as the bright tones of single-coil pickups (including split-coil configurations at switch positions 2 and 4). Adjust the character of the sound using the standard volume and tone shutter potentiometers. LR Baggs piezo stones and a built-in preamp with volume control and three-band EQ turn your electric guitar into an acoustic in seconds. Two outputs from the guitar (Mix/Acoustic and Electric) allow you to send out a mix of electric/acoustic signals via one cable, or output the signal from the piezo stones and pickups separately. A third MIDI 13-pin connector connects the guitar to Roland GR synths, turning it either purely into a synth or mixing all three sounds. A three-position switch is used to toggle between Acoustic/Electric, Acoustic/Electric/Synth and Synth only modes, while the second switch is a momentary switch duplicating the function of the S1/S2 buttons on the Roland GK pickups.
The body of the guitar is composed of poplar wings, a center maple piece and a fancy Hawaiian koa top veneer. Glued to the mahogany neck is a richlite composite fingerboard fitted with twenty-two frets. The strings are anchored in tuning machines with an 18:1 gear ratio and floating tremolo.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
