The Fender Custom Shop's limited edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Stratocaster celebrates 70 years of timeless Fender Stratocaster electric guitar design and sound.
The Limited Edition 70th Anniversary 1954 Strat - Heavy Relic electric guitar embodies the sound and musical legacy of the early Strat models from the first half of the 1950s. The body of the guitar is made of two pieces of ash. The Heavy Relic's finish, with distinctive elements of faux patina in the form of "scratched lacquer", faded hardware and other battle scars, convincingly evokes decades of intense playing and gigging, even though this is a brand new, not a boutique/bazaar, instrument. The glossy nitrocellulose lacquer not only allows the wood to breathe and does not muffle its sound, but also adds a distinctly personal character as the years pass.
The one-piece maple neck (quartersawn) features a special 70th Anniversary Soft "V" profile based on the July 1954 Strat neck specifications. Twenty-one Medium Jumbo frets and black micarta dots divide the fingerboard surface.
Three hand-wound single-coil pickups from the Custom Shop provide the guitar with classic Strat sound and feel. Adjust the character of the sound using the standard controls. Strings are held in vintage-style tuning machines and synchronized tremolo. The styling is accentuated by a white single-ply pickguard, white 1954-style pickup and potentiometer covers, and a 70th Anniversary Stratocaster neck plate.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity, guitar strap, instrument cable and other accessories.
