The Fender 60 Stratocaster David Brown Closet Classic is a masterbuilt instrument from the Fender Custom Shop, made for you by master guitar maker David Brown. The Closet Classic's finish, with subtle elements of faux patina in the form of subtle oxidation on the metal parts, fine surface scratches on the body and headstock, slight fading of the plastic parts, and an understated sheen, is meant to evoke an instrument that has rarely been taken out of its case over the decades or completely forgotten for long periods of time. The Lake Placid Blue body is adorned with exclusive Competition Stripes.
The body of the guitar is made of two pieces of alder. A AAA quality rosewood fingerboard with twenty-one Narrow Tall/6105 frets and micarta position markers is glued to a maple neck with a period "60s style Oval C" profile (5/4 quartersawn).
Three hand-wound HW Strat Dual Mag II pickups with two types of Alnico magnets give the guitar a balanced sound with unmistakable Fender DNA. Adjust the character of the sound using the standard controls. The strings are anchored via a bone fretboard in vintage-style tuning machines and a synchronized Strat tremolo. The styling is accentuated by potentiometers and covers in a slightly darker shade and a pickguard matching the body design (competition stripes).
The guitar comes in a case with a strap and certificate of authenticity.
