The Fender '67 Telecaster electric guitar is still a highly prized and sought-after model among collectors after nearly sixty years. No wonder - with a two-piece ash body, Bigsby B5 vibrato and RSD J-Bridge headstock, it will stand out in almost any guitar collection.
And it's this model that the 1967 Telecaster Bigsby DLX Closet Classic electric guitar from the Fender Custom Shop resembles. The DLX Closet Classic's finish, with its subtle elements of faux patina in the form of subtle oxidation on the metal parts, fine surface scratches on the body and headstock, slight fading of the plastic parts, and an understated sheen, is meant to evoke an instrument that has rarely been taken out of its case over the decades or completely forgotten for long periods of time.
The body of the guitar is made of two pieces of ash. The maple neck features a period '60s-style Oval "C" profile, and the fingerboard surface is divided by twenty-one Narrow Tall frets and black micarta dots.
Two hand-wound '67 Tele single-coil pickups from the Custom Shop provide the guitar with classic Telecaster twang and feel. Adjust the character of the sound using the standard controls. The state-of-the-art Greasebucket circuit allows you to take away the highs without accentuating the bass frequencies. Strings are held in Fender/Shaller Vintage F Style tuning machines and RSD J-Bridge and Bigsby B5 vibrato tailpiece. The stylish finish is accentuated by a three-layer pickguard (parchment).
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity and guitar strap.
