The Eventide TriceraChorus is a pedal effect inspired by the famous Tri-Stereo Chorus rack from the 80s and chorus boxes from the 70s and 80s. It combines the rich sound of BBD chorus effects with the subtle detune/detune of the Eventide MicroPitch effect for even more interesting stereo effects.
The TriceraChorus offers three separate chorus effect channels/voicings with separate modulation intensity controls (Left, Center, Right) and three different chorus effect types complemented by the Detune function and the Swirl footswitch. For classic stereo chorus box sounds, set the Mix control to the Chorus mod, Chorale mode offers the richer more complex chorus effect sounds familiar from the aforementioned Tri-Chorus rack unit, and the third type is the Vibrato effect. Use the Detune control to add a tuning change to the chorus effect (thanks to the secondary function of the controls, you can set both more subtle and more pronounced detuning, the so-called "seasick" sounds). The last way to enrich the already distinctive sound of the stereo chorus effect is the Swirl function (by activating the corresponding footswitch), where you can add modulations of the flanger, phaser or Uni-vibe effect to the sound kaleidoscope. Thanks to the secondary functions of the drivers, the possibilities of sound modifications of the TriceraChorus effect go far beyond the limits of conventional chorus "stompboxes".
Footswitch Active offers two modes - latching and momentary, where the effect modulation lasts only for the duration of the footswitch pressing. The Swirl footswitch, in addition to activating the Swirl function, is used to switch between five factory-set effect presets. Additional presets can be loaded from the Eventide Device Manager (EDM) software via USB or TRS EXP (using a MIDI to TRS cable or MIDI converter). The EDM software also serves as a platform for editing and saving individual presets. Via TRS EXP, you connect your expression pedal to the TriceraChorus effect and assign any combination of parameters to it.
The rear panel offers two switches (Mono/Stereo input, Guitar/Line Lvl) in addition to the connectors. Within the circuitry, you can choose from Buffered, Relay, DSP+FX and Kill dry modes. A 9V DC center negative adapter is required to power the effect.
