The mahogany body of the guitar in double-cut ESP Viper design covers the matte finish of Oxblood Satin. The narrow three-piece mahogany neck with a "Thin U" profile is glued to a macassar ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on the fingerboard even in the dark is guaranteed by luminescent "glow-in-the-dark" dots on the side.
A set of Lars Frederiksen's passive EMG Signature pickups, using both ceramic (bridge) and Alnico 5 (neck) magnets, give the guitar a punchy, ripping sound with excellent articulation. Adjust the character of the sound using the pickup volume controls, tone shutter and three-position toggle switch. Stable tuning and good sustain are guaranteed by the string attachment in the Gotoh mechanics and through the TonePros locking TOM in the string.
The guitar is supplied in a case.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
