The body of the VIPER-1000 VINTAGE BLACK is made of mahogany. The neck is made of three pieces of mahogany and the fingerboard is made of macassar ebony with twenty-two Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on the fingerboard.
Two active Fishman Fluence Modern humbuckers with ceramic and Alnico magnets give the guitar a great dynamic sound (without any accompanying noise) with precise articulation of individual notes/chords and, if needed, a sufficient amount of punch/aggressiveness. The push/pull tone shutter function allows you to switch between voicings - so the guitar's sonic arsenal is much wider than it might first appear. A three-position pickup switch completes the controls as standard.
Stable tuning and quick string changes are guaranteed by the attachment of the strings in the LTD locking mechanisms and through the Tonepros Locking TOM string in the stringers. The stylish workmanship is accentuated by the gold hardware.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
