The body of the SN-1 BARITONE HT BLACK baritone guitar is made of swamp ash. A five-piece maple and purpleheart neck is glued to a bolt-on ebony makassar fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets (the fretboard is selectable between frets 17-24). The variable fingerboard radius allows for both comfortable riff playing at the zero fret and comfortable ultra-fast shred at higher positions. The longer baritone menorah is ideal for lower tunings (the guitar, like seven-string models, is tuned from H).
The Fishman Fluence Modern active humbucker with ceramic magnet gives the guitar a great dynamic sound (without any accompanying noise) with precise articulation of individual notes/chords, plus the ability to choose between voicings of active and passive pickups (push/pull volume control function).
Stable tuning is guaranteed by the string attachment in the LTD locking mechanisms and through the Hipshot solidbody bridge. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by the black bone fretboard, brushed black pickguard and chrome hardware.
ESP has been making electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
