The construction of the ESP LTD KH-V BSP Black Sparkle consists of a body made of korina/white limba wood and a three-piece maple neck with an extra thin "U" profile. Twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets and imitation mother-of-pearl position markers divide the Ebony Macassar fingerboard surface.
Two Kirk Hammett signature EMG Bone Breaker humbuckers, a headstock with ceramic and a neck with Alnico V magnets, give the guitar both an aggressive defined sound for fast rhythmic phrasing of guitar riffs and a full round sound for guitar solos. Standard setup adjustments are made using the volume, tone shutter and pickup switch potentiometers. The strings are anchored in the company's locking mechanics and through the body via the tailpiece. The nice workmanship is accentuated by the Black Sparkle color scheme and black hardware.
The guitar comes in a case.
ESP has been making electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in an affordable option. However, even in the case of ESP-LTD guitars, great emphasis is placed on the quality of workmanship and fitted components. For a fraction of the price you can have a very high quality instrument that stands behind many a famous riff.
