The flat mahogany body of the guitar is decorated with black lacquer and black brushed matte pickguard. A three-piece mahogany neck with a set-thru construction, i.e. the neck recessed deeper into the body, is joined by an Ebony Macassar fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Extra Jumbo stainless steel frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
A Seymour Duncan Custom 14 humbucker made exclusively for ESP provides the guitar with a great dynamic sound and a wide range of tones - from clean to blues-rock crunch to full heavy metal distortion. Thanks to the push/pull function of the volume knob, you can change the character of the sound to single-coil (coil-split). The knob itself, by the way, is located practically behind the fingerboard, so more expressive musicians won't be hindered in their playing.
Stable tuning and quick string changes are guaranteed by their attachment in the LTD locking mechanisms and through the Tonepros TOM bridge through the body of the guitar.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
