In this particular case, it is a signature model of Jeff Hanneman, guitarist of the legendary thrash metal band Slayer, whose ideas and playing have greatly influenced the shape of the contemporary metal scene. At first glance, the guitar already catches the eye with its camouflage design. Its body is made of alder. A three-piece maple neck with a set-thru construction, i.e. a neck recessed deep into the body, and a narrow Extra Thin U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard fitted with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by pearl markers with the "H Dagger" design motif.
Two active EMG humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness and precise articulation for vocal solos or chord breakdowns, while also providing density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. Other high quality components used include a Kahler 2315 double reverse tremolo or Gotoh mechanics. Tuning stability when using the tremolo lever is guaranteed by the locks on the zero fret, which like all hardware are in a stylish black finish.
The guitar comes in a case with a certificate of authenticity.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and its satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
