The Horizon III electric guitars are distinguished from the conventional types by the contrast of the elongated upper and shortened lower corners of the instrument's body. The E-II Horizon-III FR model catches the eye at first glance with its figured maple top in Reindeer Blue and contrasting bright binding. The body of the guitar itself is made of alder. A three-piece maple neck with a narrower U profile is joined by an ebony fingerboard with twenty-four Extra Jumbo frets. Orientation on its surface is facilitated by mother-of-pearl position blocks.
Two Seymour Duncan passive humbuckers provide the instrument's sound with the necessary fullness, dynamics and precise articulation for singing solos or chord breakdowns, as well as density and aggression for ultra-fast guitar shred and sharply chiseled rock and metal riffs. A push/pull volume potentiometer function allows you to tap the humbucker coils for a clean single-coil sound. The strings are secured in the Gotoh TOM's solid tailpiece and through the body of the instrument. Other quality components used include Gotoh Locking mechanisms or Schaller rolls.
ESP has been manufacturing electric guitars since 1984 and satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera.
