The Goodtime five-string electro-acoustic banjo is one of the so-called open-back instruments, i.e. a banjo without a resonator with an open back plate. Its sound can be used in a wide range of styles from bluegrass, folk to jazz. The instrument's maple fingerboard is fitted with twenty-two pakfong frets, and orientation around its surface is facilitated by hardwood position markers. An eleven-inch bellows is attached to the maple body by a steel rim. The strings are mounted on one side in high-quality closed guitar-type mechanisms (including the fifth pin), on the other side through a maple/ebony fingerboard in a nickel-plated steel stringer.
The banjo is fitted with a Kavanjo pickup, a magnetic humbucker specifically designed for the needs of banjos, which does not degrade the acoustic sound of the instrument and allows you to play through guitars without distracting feedback.
All Deering instruments (from professional models to the entry-level Goodtime line) are made in Spring Valley, California, USA by skilled craftsmen. Here, each piece is given the same care and attention to meet strict quality standards.
