The Boss ST-2 Power Stack offers the authentic sound of a guitar stack (amp and box) in a compact pedal effect body. i.e. what many current amp-in-boxes attempt to do. The Sound knob adjusts the guitar sound from classic blues/rock crunch to full rock overdrive to thick metal distortion with awesome sustain. Even with high distortion, the pedal maintains clarity of sound and perfect dynamic response to the details of your playing and volume changes. The remaining effect controls determine the tone color (dual-band EQ Bass and Treble) and output volume (Level).
The box, like all pedals in current Boss production, operates in Buffered Bypass mode. Power is supplied by a 9V battery or 9V adapter.
