In the book you will find the traditional 101 inspiring exercises that will guide you through topics such as practicing double chords, playing decimal chords, triple chords, learning to play seventh chords, ninth chords and sus4 chords, try out complex chord fingering on all four strings, passionate flamenco style chords, exercise your brain in voice leading and finally play chord studies and etudes in different musical styles.

The author has paid particular attention to the practical application of each exercise. These are not self-explanatory etudes or mechanical practice. You can take the exercises and use them in a song or during a jam session with a drummer or other musician. Or use it in your own original composition. There are no limits to your imagination and creativity.

It is always a piece of music and only in the second case an exercise. Often exercises are written as passages in a song - a verse, a bridge or a chorus. It is the author's wish that this musical approach will further motivate you to incorporate chordal playing into your register.
While playing chords on the bass, you may immediately think of a new song and end up playing it with the band. You never know, you might be so inspired by chord playing that you become a songwriter and bring not just grooves or bass lines, but full songs to your musical project.

30-39 - chords with three notes (triple chords)
40-49 - grooves with double beats and chords
50-60 - seventh chords
61-65 - ninth chords
66-70 - sus4 chords
71-75 - chords on all four strings
76-80 - flamenco style chords
81-90 - voice leading
91-101 - etudes and grooves in different musical styles
