ALLEN&HEATH SQ5

The Allen&Heath SQ-5 is built on a powerful XCVI FPGA computing core with a 96 kHz sampling rate, delivering unmatched audio quality, high resolution and extremely low latency (<0.7ms) in this class of digital mixing console. The SQ-5 features 16 microphone preamps and 8 effect units (stereo) with access to the popular RackExtra FX effects library via the corresponding returns. We also find 12 buses (group or aux) that are excellent for working and configuring in-ear monitoring, with the powerful Automatic Microphone Mix (AMM) reliably monitoring environments with higher mic counts. SQ is the perfect solution for AV, rentals, installations and live bands.

96kHz XCVI Core
The new SQ5, SQ6 and SQ7 mixing consoles are future-ready with the revolutionary XCVI 96kHz FPGA technology known from the hugely successful and award-winning dLive range. It delivers a coherent mix, rich computing capacity for all inputs and outputs, superior audio resolution and system latency below 0.7ms.

DEEP processing ready
The SQs feature a core set of DEEP processing algorithms familiar from the dLive series, including award-winning compressors and tube preamps that can be used directly within the input channels.

Top-of-the-line IEM system
Superior ergonomics, a compact 12-bus format, incredibly low latency, parametric and graphic equalizers on each bus optimize work with headphones and in-ear systems.

Up to 48 microphones
The SQ-5 mixing console is equipped with all inputs and outputs for immediate operation. Thanks to the "smart" SLink port, existing racks, expanders and stage boxes are supported (AB168, AR2412, AR84 - 48kHz only, or DX168 with which to take full advantage of 96kHz technology), making expansion of physical inputs and outputs very easy. The SQ can even be connected to another SQ or even a dLive system.

Dante, Waves and much more
The SQ is the centerpiece of a growing collection of different applications, network card expanders, personal mixing consoles and other devices that allow you to connect, customize and expand the "heart" of your system. Compatibility with Dante and Waves network cards is a matter of course, realizing complex interconnections of fixed installations or digital splitting of FoH stations and monitoring consoles.

Multitrack
Full integration of the SQ-Drive protocol brings a long-awaited tool for easy multitrack recording at 96 kHz sample rate directly to a USB stick or HDD. At the same time, no software configuration or complex installation of precise drivers is required to achieve the best results. SQ-Drive also serves as a clear way to play back your customers' delivered audio files. Of course, it features a built-in 32x32 USB audio interface with maximum sample rate for multi-track recording directly to your computer. It is fully compatible with Core Audio and ASIO and also brings full MIDI and DAW control capability.

Advanced AMM
The new Advanced AMM can handle up to 64 microphones, which can be split into 4 independent AMMs for simultaneous operation of multiple conference rooms or panel discussions, for example. In addition, a choice of one of two AMM topologies is possible: gain sharing and NOM (Number of Open Microphones).

Designed for professionals We are fully aware of the fact that the working environment of sound engineers and professionals is no walk in the park. For this reason, too, the SQ's design is prepared for the unexpected, and its metal construction, durable finish, and reinforced aluminum light bar can withstand the most demanding conditions.

Workflow
With each product, the Allen & Heath development team gets closer to the ultimate mixing system. SQ's user interface is oriented around a 7" high-resolution capacitive touchscreen and, together with the controls, creates an intuitive and clear environment with visual feedback. Using the drag'n'drop principle, inputs and buses can be easily placed on any channel strip and the LCD displays above each fader can be instantly renamed and colour-coded, creating a fully personalised environment for your way of working. A patented chromatic output level meter can also be found on each channel.

RackExtra FX
Allen & Heath has gained a respected position in the market over the years of developing effects emulations. In the SQ mixing console, we find 8 effects units that contain libraries of RackExtra effect algorithms, specifically emulating legendary effects such as classic reverb, gated reverb, delay, various modulations and much more. All effects come with their own returns, saving valuable input channels.

ME Personal Mixing System
The SQ is fully compatible with the ME personal mixing system, allowing performers to customize their own listening path. Connect the ME-1 and ME-500 personal mixers using the Slink port or the appropriate expander.
