AKG D40

The AKG D40 is another upgraded model, this time designed primarily for capturing musical instruments such as drums, percussion, wind instruments and guitars. It has a dynamic design and, like the previous "vocal" D5 and D7, features an all-new microphone insert constructed with patented Laminate Varimotion™ technology. This unique technology guarantees a balanced frequency response and high resistance to feedback, which is further enhanced by the microphone's cardioid directional characteristic. AKG has produced the first microphone cartridge with a diaphragm whose thickness is not constant, but changes with its diameter. This technology guarantees excellent sound across the entire frequency range. In addition, the insert is housed in a highly durable body and has a spring-loaded fit. This guarantees very good resistance to unwanted mechanical noise. The body itself is also equipped with an integrated bracket for easy attachment of the microphone to a stand or mounting clip. The microphone is equipped with a standard XLR connector.
