PREMIER BEDFORD Bob Weir Signature Matte Stone is a signature model of Bob Weir's electric guitar from the famous Grateful Dead in an original offset design.
The body of the instrument is made of lime wood. A maple neck with a "C" profile and Set-Thru construction, i.e. a neck recessed deeper into the body, is glued to an ovangkol fingerboard fitted with twenty-two Medium Vintage frets. Orientation on the fingerboard is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
The combination of two P90 Duncan Designed pickups at the bridge and neck positions and a classic single at the center position gives the guitar a wide range of sonic colors. Adjust the character of the sound using the volume potentiometers, tone shutter and five-position pickup switch. A third Blender control adds the signal from the currently inactive "dummy coil" pickup for an even richer palette of guitar sounds.
The strings are anchored in stylish Grover 109 Super Rotomatic tuning machines and a six-point tremolo. The guitar's design is embellished with a five-ply pickguard in Black Pearl with an F-hole design that mimics the cutout of an oboe, fingerboard and headstock binding, and traditional Art Deco elements of D'Angelico instruments.
The guitar comes in a gig bag.
