The mahogany body of the EC-256 VINTAGE GOLD SATIN guitar features a Vintage Gold Satin finish and bright perimeter binding. The narrow three-piece mahogany neck with a "Thin U" profile is glued to a roasted jatoba fingerboard with twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets. The fingerboard orientation is facilitated by position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl.
Two proprietary passive humbuckers give the guitar an aggressive sound suitable for contemporary rock and metal music, as well as a pure single-coil feel (thanks to the ability to split the humbucker coils). The strings are anchored in the company's tuning machines and through the TOM tailpiece in the stringers. The stylish finish is accentuated by gold hardware and bright fretboard and headstock binding.
ESP has been making electric guitars since 1984 and satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
