The flat top mahogany body of the EC-201 FT SEE THRU BLACK CHERRY is joined by a three-piece mahogany neck. Twenty-two Extra Jumbo frets divide the roasted jatoba fingerboard. Position blocks made of imitation mother-of-pearl facilitate orientation on the fingerboard.
The company's higher-output LH-150B cobbler humbucker gives the guitar an aggressive sound suitable for contemporary rock and metal music, as well as a pure single-coil feel (thanks to the ability to split the humbucker coils). The strings are mounted in the company's tuning machines and through the TOM cobbler through the body. The styling is accentuated by the black pickguard and hardware.
ESP has been making electric guitars since 1984 and satisfied customers include Kirk Hammett, James Hetfield, Ronnie Wood and Max Cavalera. Due to the popularity of these instruments, a subsidiary company, LTD, has been formed to offer popular models in more affordable designs.
