The front of the AAM50CE-OPN is made from solid Sitka spruce, while the back and sides are made from plywood sapele. A purpleheart wood fingerboard with 20 frets is glued to the okoumé neck. Reduced X-M ribbing optimally transmits string vibrations throughout the body. Good matching at the higher positions of the fingerboard is guaranteed by the lower cutaway (Advanced Access Cutaway). An interesting feature is the specifically designed hole in the back of the instrument (A.I.R.port), which allows you to hear and feel what you are playing better.
The strings are mounted in chrome die-cast gears with 18:1 gear ratio and purpleheart fingerboard. Ibanez Advantage pegs offer advantages over standard models in terms of ease of handling and tight string attachment. The stylish look of the instrument is accentuated by traditional elements in the form of a black body surround, a rosette composed of black and white rings and a pickguard made of imitation tortoiseshell.
Sound pickup is provided by an Ibanez T-bar pickup and Ibanez AEQ-TP2 preamp with volume control, two-band EQ and built-in tuner. The signal from the guitar can be output via a standard instrument cable (6.3 mm jack) or a balanced XLR output.
